Educational Theater for Spanish Teachers
Theater tools to transform your Spanish teaching
Duration: 4 hours
Format: In-person
Intended for: Spanish, ESOL, and bilingual education teachers
Description
Educational Theater for Spanish Teachers is a 4-hour in-person workshop designed specifically for Spanish teachers who are looking to innovate their teaching. Through theater techniques applied to the classroom, teachers will learn to transform their classes into lively, participatory, and effective spaces.
This is not a traditional training. It is a scenic, dynamic, and practical space where teachers experience firsthand the strategies they can then apply with their students.
Why take this workshop?
Teaching Spanish often faces passive classes, lack of motivation, and little oral interaction. This workshop proposes a practical and creative solution: using theater as a tool to teach vocabulary, grammar, culture, and oral expression.
Educational theater promotes participation, fluency, critical thinking, and emotional connection with the language. Students not only learn Spanish: they live it.
How This Training Transforms Teaching Practice
Educational theater equips teachers with powerful tools to bring learning to life. Through theatrical techniques, educators learn to:
  • Engage students more deeply by making lessons dynamic, interactive, and emotionally resonant
  • Use voice, movement, and space with greater awareness and impact, increasing their presence and effectiveness in the classroom
  • Foster empathy and collaboration, encouraging students to take active roles in their own learning
  • Create safe spaces for exploration, where students can express themselves, take risks, and build confidence
  • Turn abstract concepts into lived experiences, helping students internalize and retain complex ideas
By incorporating theater-based methods, teachers become facilitators of active, embodied learning—transforming their classrooms into vibrant spaces of curiosity, creativity, and connection.
Español Neutro
Scenic workshop on voice, clarity, and presence
Duration: 4 hours
Format: In-person
Intended for: Spanish, ESOL, and bilingual education teachers, actors, presenters, communicators, and facilitators
Description?
Español Neutro is an intensive and experiential workshop aim to develop clear, articulated, and regionally unbiased communication. It is ideal for those seeking to improve their stage presence, pronunciation, and oral expressiveness in professional, educational, or artistic contexts.
Over 4 hours, participants act, improvise, read aloud, and practice on stage. It is an active, non-traditional training where learning happens through doing.
Conducted entirely in Spanish.
Why take this workshop?
In multicultural and professional contexts, speaking with clarity and neutrality is essential to be understood. Many teachers, actors, or communicators face barriers due to strong accents, regionalisms, filler words, or lack of vocal technique.
This workshop provides the necessary tools to overcome these obstacles and achieve more effective, coherent, and professional communication.
How This Training Transforms Teaching Practice
After completing this training, teachers will:
  • Communicate more clearly and effectively using standard Spanish, especially in linguistically diverse classrooms
  • Enhance classroom presence through confident voice projection, expressive body language, and purposeful movement
  • Adapt their communication style to better connect with students from a variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds
  • Model effective language use for heritage speakers and Spanish learners alike
  • Create more inclusive learning environments where every student feels understood and engaged
This training empowers educators to be intentional, impactful communicators—inside and outside the classroom.
